Looking back on a quarter-century of dining in the dark

In our anniversary newspaper, you’ll find exciting facts and stories about 25 years of blindekuh. Get to know the people behind the restaurant, discover 25 secrets, and get insights into the highlights of the past years.

In September 2024, we celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, where it all began.

Guests included friends, patrons, employees, as well as Cantonal Councilor Jaqueline Fehr and restaurateur Michel Péclard. The founders Stefan Zappa and Jürg Spielmann, who developed the idea of a dark restaurant, were also present.

In captivating speeches, we looked back on 25 eventful years, from humble beginnings to significant milestones and challenges that we overcame thanks to great support.

A look into the future shows that the Blindekuh Foundation continues to raise awareness for the world of the blind and visually impaired. Through extraordinary experiences in the dark, we create understanding and empathy. We are committed to inclusion and encounters between sighted and non-sighted people.

We sincerely thank everyone who has helped write our success story and look forward to many more years to come.
